praised “amazing” in a resurfaced video just weeks the Italian dancer of inappropriate conduct.

The 50-year-old actress left in October last year, leaving fans disappointed as they predicted she and Giovanni were one of the strongest couples . However, the show was rocked when it emerged Amanda had accused the Italian of verbal abuse and inappropriate sexual conduct during their rehearsals.

A BBC investigation into her allegations upheld six of her 17 complaints against the 34-year-old, with two of the upheld complaints reportedly relating to inappropriate conduct of a sexual nature, according to the Sherlock star. However, fans were in disbelief when an old video of Amanda heaping praise on her Strictly dance partner emerged on social media.

In the clip, Amanda can be seen sitting in a car while waiting to pick up her two children, Joe, 18, and Grace, 16, and discussing the busy day she had fitting in spray tans for the live shows, as well as rehearsing with Giovanni. “We have to be careful, because we swear a lot, me and Giovanni. We are really bad swearers. We make each other laugh with our swearing,” she laughed.

“We did our dance for the first time in the studio - three times for the cameras. I love our dance, it's a beautiful thing. He's an incredible choreographer, Giovanni, he's amazing. And he's created something really beautiful, I think. So, we're both very pleased,” Amanda gushed. While the duo got off to a great start at the beginning of their partnership last year, the relationship soon turned sour, and Amanda left Strictly in a cloud of mystery.

However, the truth about her exit became clear earlier this year, when she accused Giovanni of inappropriate conduct - which he denied - and a BBC investigation into the complaints began. Giovanni was cleared of the majority of allegations, including physical aggression, and Amanda spoke about her “year of hell” in an interview on Newsnight with Victoria Derbyshire earlier this month.

In an interview with The Sun earlier this month, she said she had discovered two lumps in her breast just hours before she decided to quit Strictly. She admitted she “just couldn't concentrate” during rehearsals, and she said the health scare was the trigger for her to leave the show for good. “It was the catalyst I’d been sort of waiting for, which is terrible. But that’s what I was thinking, that it was a healthier option than being in that room,” Amanda shared.
