American actress Angelina Jolie and her offspring Vivienne are twinning with new tattoos.
The star of 'Maleficent', aged 49, and her 16 year old daughter opted for matching body art after bonding over their work on the 'The Outsiders' Broadway production, a meaningful nod to one of Angelina's lines. Speaking to CR Fashion Book, Jolie revealed: "I got 'Stay Gold' with my daughter Viv during our time with 'The Outsiders'. It means so much to us separately and together."
Not one to shy away from family-inspired tattoos, Angelina, who shares six children with Hollywood actor Brad Pitt, 60, also disclosed she sports a bird tattoo in harmony with some of her brood, citing "personal" motives for the sentimental ink. While recent snaps uncover that Angelina rocks the 'Stay Gold' mantra in a bold red hue on her inner arm, it remains a mystery whether Vivienne mirrors her mother's placement of the tattoo.
Behind the scenes, Angelina took the reins as producer for 'The Outsiders', adapted from S E Hintons novel published in 1967, recruiting her youngster as an assistant for the drama. The Oscar winner opened up about selecting Viv for the role, saying: "Viv reminds me of my mother in that she isn't focused on being the centre of attention but in being a support to other creatives." Adding insight into Viv's character, she continued, "She's very thoughtful and serious about theatre and working hard to best understand how to contribute."
Besides Vivienne, Angelina's brood includes Maddox, aged 23; Pax, 20; Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; and Knox, Vivienne's twin sibling, who is 16, all whom she shares with her former partner Brad. The former couple met on the set of action comedy Mr & Mrs Smith and were married in 2014. Angelina filed for divorce in September 2016 but the details of their divorce have yet to be finalised. In May their daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt became the first of their children to request a legal name change.
Angelina's estranged father, Jon Voight, 85, has previously expressed his desire for an end to their divorce saga, telling Fox News Digital: "I wish that would be over. It's tough. I wish they found a way to make peace." Voight also shared his concerns about the impact of their ongoing disputes on their children, saying: "I think that the kids need some stability. I love the kids and I love my daughter, and I want Brad to step up, too (and do) what he has to do (and) end this nonsense."
