Arsenal early team news hint for Liverpool as Mikel Arteta decision expected

Some players have dropped early team news hints ahead of the Premier League clash against Liverpool.

side will be hoping to close the gap on the Merseyside club in the top-flight standings when they meet at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The are four points adrift of Liverpool in the Premier League table but have the opportunity to see that drop to just one with a victory in North London.

Some Arsenal players are already unavailable for the fixture. Martin Odegaard, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are sidelined through injury, while William Saliba is ruled out as he serves a suspension for the red card he picked up during last week's defeat to Bournemouth.

As has become a tradition in the , some players often take to social media to post pre-match graphics ahead of their team's respective fixture. When this happens, it's often an indication that the player may be starting in the game or, at the very least, in the matchday squad.

Two players who posted pre-match graphics on their Instagram stories on Sunday morning included Raheem Sterling and Thomas Partey. The duo could be in line to start against Liverpool, especially if Saka, Timber and Calafiori are all unavailable to feature.

Arsenal also posted on their Instagram story a pre-match graphic that featured Gabriel Martinelli, indicating that the Brazilian may be included in Arteta's starting line-up.

Arteta opted to start four forwards in the win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League in midweek, with Martinelli joined by Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz in the starting line-up. It remains to be seen if Arteta will go with a similar tactic against Liverpool or if Sterling will be given an opportunity to start against his former club.
