BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty delivered a considerate spoiler warning to viewers, stating they should 'leave the room' if they want to avoid hearing about the latest Celebrity MasterChef final results.

The broadcaster, 49, made her return to our screens on Saturday morning, taking up presenting duties with her co-host, Charlie Stayt, with conversation quickly turning to Friday's gripping finale of the celebrity cooking show.

The champ of the BBC culinary contest was only moments away from joining them on set, but not before Naga instructed those who missed the nail-biter episode to 'turn the telly down' to escape spoilers.

Naga then solemnly announced: "If you are a fan of Celebrity Masterchef and you didn't watch last night's final this is your warning to look away, leave the room and turn the telly down because after six weeks the winner."

Taking a dramatic pause, she added: "I'm about to say it, the winner was Strictly Come Dancing professional Vito Coppola, who impressed the judges with his Italian dish."

The emotional segment proceeded as viewers got a glimpse of the jubilant moment Vito was named the victor in the cutthroat competition triumphing over Line Of Duty actress Rochenda Sandall and TV presenter Craig Doyle from This Morning, reports the Express.

Charlie kicked off the interview by offering his congratulations and asking: "Can we first of all say congratulations. How does it feel?".

Overjoyed and grinning broadly, Vito expressed his gratitude saying: "Thank you so much, I feel like when you're a kid and you have all the butterflies in your stomach and that's how I felt the entire MasterChef journey."

The star divulged his pre-challenge excitement: "Every night before every challenge I couldn't sleep because I was so excited and that is me today and I feel like in a good way overwhelmed and I get emotional every single time, it feels like a dream. Sometimes I pinch myself because it's just amazing."

Clutching his prize, Vito shared the trophy's future home: "For now it's here but because I have my brother and my cousin here with me, I will give it to them because it deserves to be with my family in Italy. So it's going to go all the way to Italy and probably stay at my grandparents house."

Despite incorporating his Italian roots into the final's cooking, Vito confessed his relatives' doubts about his culinary skills.

He continued to reveal an agreement with his grandmother: "I made a deal with my grandmother and she said if I'm going on the show to make her proud she will allow me to cook one meal next Christmas."

BBC Breakfast airs from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer
