Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds donate £765,000 to disaster relief fund after hurricanes

Hollywood's golden coupleandhave once again shown their generous side, donating a whopping one million dollars (£765,000) to Feeding America in the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton's rampage through the US. The pair stepped up as on Wednesday night as a Category 3 storm, unleashing winds exceeding 100mph (160kph).

Their act of kindness follows the news that their pal, music icon , generously gave five million dollars (£3.8 million) to the same cause. Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, the CEO of Feeding America, lauded Blake and Ryan for their contribution towards helping those affected "rebuild and recover" from the hurricanes that wreaked havoc across the south-eastern states.

"Their longtime support of Feeding America in times of crisis has helped our network on the ground before, during and after disasters," she expressed in a heartfelt statement on X.

She highlighted that the funds will be instrumental in providing essentials such as water, ready-to-eat meals, and supplies to communities grappling with immense loss and the daunting task of recovery.

In another display of celebrity compassion, country legend personally pledged one million dollars (£765,000) to hurricane relief efforts, while her business ventures, including the beloved Dollywood theme park, echoed her generosity by matching the donation to the Mountain Ways Foundation.

Country star Morgan Wallen has stepped up with a generous donation of 500,000 dollars via the Morgan Wallen Foundation to support recovery efforts in east Tennessee and other areas hit by Hurricane Helene.

In solidarity, fellow artists Keith Urban, Luke Combs, and Sheryl Crow are banding together for a 'Concert For Carolina' later this month, pledging "all proceeds to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts in the Carolina region".
