Former Sheffield United star George Baldock has reportedly been found dead in his swimming pool in , aged just 31.
Multiple outlets in Greece have reported with tributes pouring in for the ex-Premier League star. It is alleged concerns were raised when Baldock's wife couldn't contact him after several hours without a response.
Baldock was found in the pool and emergency services were called, with a doctor part of the response unit verifying that he had tragically died.
The defender spent seven years with the Blades between 2017 and 2024 having previously also represented MK Dons, Northampton and Oxford.
Baldock qualified to play for Greece through his grandmother and made 12 appearances for the national side. He moved to Panathinaikos in the summer following his release from Sheffield United.
A fan favourite at Bramall Lane, Baldock played 219 times for the Blades in all competitions, scoring six goals. He twice helped United win promotion from the Championship into the .
Baldock begun his career at MK Dons and would make 125 appearances for the club. As well as Northampton and Oxford, he also had loan spells with non-league side Tamworth and Icelandic outfit IBV.
His elder brother Sam is also a former professional footballer.
