Cheryl Baker, the Bucks Fizz star, dazzled fans with her ageless appearance on The Celebrity Chase's rerun on , looking as stunning as she did during her Eurovision heyday. of celebs aiming to win cash for charity on Saturday's special episode. The trio managed to answer 19 questions correctly but it wasn't enough to beat the Chaser, who caught up with them, reducing their £142,000 pot down to a mere £1,000 each for their charities. She is best known for being a member of Bucks Fizz – now called The Fizz – who won the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest. Bucks Fizz shot to fame after winning the 1981 Eurovision contest, and went on to top the charts with their bubbly 80s pop music.

The band, which originally consisted of Bobby G, Jay Aston, Cheryl and Mike Nolan, enjoyed many years of success with hits such as The Land Of Make Believe and Making Your Mind Up reaching number one in the charts. The line-up continued to change over the years, with Jay quitting Bucks Fizz in 1985 and being replaced by Shelley Preston.

Now, there are two versions of the famous group – one with the same name, including Bobby G, and a second made up of Jay, Mike and Cheryl, called The Fizz. While the original Bucks Fizz is no more, the four stars continue to perform and release music, alongside other ventures such as TV presenting and charity work.

Cheryl also had a TV career in the 1980's, having presented shows including Record Breakers, The Saturday Picture Show and Eggs 'n' Baker. Cheryl, now 70, is still a member of The Fizz and has appeared on several shows over the years, including The Chase as well as pop star to Operastar, Celebrity Mastermind and Would I Lie To You?

In 2018, she competed on ITV's alongside professional skater Dan Whiston, with the pair being eliminated in the fourth week.

Cheryl tied the knot with bassist Steve Stroud in 1992, and together they're raising twin daughters, Kyla Olivia and Natalie Maria. The family calls Kent their home, where Cheryl has candidly spoken about the financial hardships brought on by the pandemic.

In 2021, she revealed: "We had one virtual gig and that was our only income, it's been ridiculously hard. I owe lots of tax, I physically haven't got the money to pay anybody back because I'm broke."
