Fabregas has been in charge at Como since last summer having built his way up from the U19s to the first team. It has been a widely impressive campaign for the Lombardy club with them sitting comfortably tenth and while they will not be challenging for a place in Europe next season, they are nowhere near a relegation battle.
However, the Spaniard could miss out on a move to Leverkusen due to his rival for the job,, who is currently without a club. It is believed that Como would be looking for a double-digit million Euro sum to end Fabregas' contract early.
Currently, the World Cup winner is contracted in Italy until the summer of 2028. Ten Hag's ability to speak English and German and his previous experience in Germany with Bayern Munich are thought to be contributing factors that could tilt the balance in the Dutchman's favour.
Fabregas is ahead of his former Barcelona teammate Xavi though. The former midfielder is out of work since he left Barcelona but he does not consider Leverkusen as a job that would further his career.
If Fabregas was to make the move to Leverkusen, he may reunite with Arsenal and Chelsea in the Champions League. Both the Gunners and Blues are firmly in the race to qualify for the European competition which Bayer have already secured access to.
