As the weather gets frostier, many are turning to soup to keep warm on those cold evenings and to pack in vitamins to fend off seasonal sniffles.

For those on a fitness journey or trying to lose some weight, a personal trainer has spilled the beans on how you can indulge in delicious soup without derailing your diet.

Following nutritionist Matt Boxall's '100-calorie' soup revelation, PT Isabelle Morris has now shared her own high-protein soup recipe.

Isabelle, who goes by @fitness4lazygirl on Instagram and boasts 130,000 followers, saw her September soup recipe go viral, with over 203,000 views.

Her chicken tortilla soup creation was a hit, with Isabelle posting a reel showing her adding ingredients like chicken, onion, and paprika into the pot and cooking it up. She tops off the soup with avocado, Greek yoghurt, and crushed tortilla chips before serving.

The video's overlay text declares: "POV you make a big soup every Sunday because it's super high-protein, gets better throughout the week, and is the easiest meal prep."

In her caption, she declared: "Idc if it's still hot out. September = soup season.

"My absolute fav dinner/meal prep because it truly checks every box! ! High protein, high volume, super nutrient dense, easy to prep, tastes delicious for days. HIGHLY recommend adding this into your meal prep rotation if you're struggling with your nutrition."

Isabelle then shared the recipe and the method which you can check out on her post before telling fans the recipe would make eight servings. She says each serving should provide around 35g of protein while only being 6g of fat and 325 calories.

Fans were loving the sound of the recipe, as one person exclaimed: "Tortilla soup. A thing of beauty." While another wrote: "A very good idea and idk why I never thought of soups as a high protein option for meal prepping. Definitely trying this."

Someone who had already had a go at the recipe also shared their own take on it, as they added: "I add some Spanish rice towards the end of my leftovers and make into burritos or serve over some roasted sweet potato. So good!"
