Jamie Carragher believes Arne Slot has made Liverpool better suited to a title challenge .

The Reds twice came from behind to secure a point at the Emirates Stadium and despite being second best for the majority of the game, stood firm to ensure they wouldn't walk away empty-handed.

Coming into the game, had conceded just three goals in its first eight games to earn the title of best defense. Even after Sunday's result, it has still conceded two goals less than (seven).

Even so, side have remained resolute at the back and believes this is what gives them the best chance of winning the Premier League this season. Speaking on Sky Sports following today's game, the former Liverpool defender said: "I wouldn't say they're better, I'd say they're different. They are certainly better defensively, when you look at the numbers this season.

"From Liverpool's point of view, the big change this season is defensively. They look a solid unit. I think this season they've been the best defensively in the Premier League and that's a big difference to what we saw last season."

In 13 games across all competitions already this season, Liverpool has kept seven clean sheets. In comparison, the Reds only kept 16 clean sheets in 58 games last season, meaning they are almost 50 percent of the way to achieving that same feat.

Forward recently admitted the importance of defending this season, claiming that everything starts from the attacking players at the front of the pitch - even if it is the last thing he thinks about.

However, the Netherlands international said that keeping the ball out of the Reds' net is a team effort, and reserved specific praise for the back line, who have been instrumental to the side's early success so far this season.

He told : "I have to say, the back four – including the goalie – are doing an amazing job this season as well, conceding only three goals until now in the league. They are doing amazing and we are there to help them. It's a team effort. We cannot take all the credit from them. They do really well."
