Actress Olivia Munn has announced that she's welcomed another baby with her husband John Mulaney.

Olivia, 44, and comedian John, 42, welcomed daughter Méi via a surrogate last week. The couple - who got married earlier this year - were already parents to son Malcolm, two, together. Méi's birth was announced by Olivia - known for her roles in shows like HBO's The Newsroom - on Instagram this week. Alongside a series of photos, she wrote in her post on Sunday about the surrogacy process.

One photo showed Olivia cradling the newborn beside her husband John - who is best known for his work with Saturday Night Live - in a hospital room. Others showed Méi asleep in her arms, whilst the family, including toddler Malcolm, were seen on a balcony together in the final photo in the post.

Olivia wrote: "Méi June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon. I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel."

She continued: "Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true. I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded. Méi (pronounced may) means plum in Chinese."

The announcement was met with well wishes from many of Olivia's followers on the platform this week. One person wrote in the comments section: "Congratulations to you and your precious family." Another follower said: "What a spectacular and magical journey! Here's to Méi having a life filled with love, wonder and joy." Someone else wrote: "Congratulations, how wonderful! Best wishes to you and your family. Welcome to the world Méi."

The news comes just weeks after Olivia shared an update on her own health, following her cancer diagnosis last year. She previously announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in March this year. She shared at the time that following the diagnosis last year, she had four surgeries. Olivia's treatment has included undergoing a double mastectomy and she later shared that hormone suppression therapy in November last year had put her into medically-induced menopause.

Olivia shared an update with fans on Instagram earlier this month, sharing a timeline of her experience. Alongside documenting the initial months following her diagnosis, it included more recent entries, including stating that in August this year, she began an Arimidex regime. According to the NHS, it's typically prescribed for women who have been through menopause and have a type of cancer called hormone-dependent breast cancer, with it described as an additional form of treatment that "helps stop the cancer coming back".
