Tom Brady has hit back at Baker Mayfield's controversial remarks regarding the legendary quarterback's stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After a career-reviving season in 2023, Mayfield, who's now entering his second season with the Bucs, secured a four-year extension to strengthen his position as the franchise's enduring quarterback. His form has stayed strong into 2024.

Just before Week 4, Mayfield delved into the team's current dynamics compared to when they clinched the Super Bowl title four years ago during Brady's first season after leaving the New England Patriots.

Highlighting the changes, Mayfield noted: "The building was a little bit different with Tom in there. Obviously, playing-wise, Tom is different. He had everybody dialed in, high-strung environment, so I think everybody was pretty stressed out

"You hear some of the stories about if he didn't like a certain play call and he didn't like it throughout the week and they still call it in the game, there might have been a throwaway on purpose or throwing it at the running back or receiver's feet. There were a lot of mind games going on."

On Sunday, during his role as a FOX Sports analyst, Brady had some words of advice when reflecting on Mayfield's comments, making it clear he did not disagree.

"I thought stressful was not having Super Bowl rings," he declared. "This wasn't daycare...

"If I was going to have fun, I was going to Disneyland with my kids. There's a way to approach this game and it's with the right mindset to push teammates.".

Brady is celebrated for delivering Tampa Bay its first Super Bowl victory since 2003 during his inaugural season, spearheading a powerhouse offensive squad. His leadership took the Buccaneers to playoffs in two subsequent seasons before hanging up his cleats after the 2022 season.

Mayfield hopes to replicate even a fraction of Bradys success, who is hailed as the GOAT, securing no less than seven Super Bowl victories throughout an illustrious career.
