BSSC Recruitment 2025: Golden opportunity for the youth preparing for government jobs in Bihar. Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of 201 posts of Field Assistant under the Directorate of Agriculture. Under this recruitment process, interested candidates will be able to apply online on the official website from 25 April to 23 May 2025. The last date for submission of the application fee has been fixed as 21 May 2025.

Selection will be done for so many posts (Vacancies)

Out of the total 201 posts in this recruitment, 35 percent i.e. 67 posts have been reserved for women, which will give special opportunities to female candidates. Talking about category-wise reservation, 79 posts are unreserved, 35 posts are for Scheduled Caste (SC), 2 posts are for Scheduled Tribe (ST), 37 posts are reserved for extremely backward class (MBC), 21 posts for backward class (BC), 7 posts for women of backward class and 20 posts are reserved for candidates of economically weaker section (EWS).

Category-wise qualifying marks

Category-wise minimum qualifying marks have been fixed for selection in this recruitment exam. The minimum qualifying marks for the unreserved category is 40 percent, for the backward class 36.5 percent, for the extremely backward class 34 percent, and for the Scheduled Caste / Tribe and women category, it is 32 percent. The minimum qualifying marks for disabled candidates will also be 32 percent. The Commission has clarified that the minimum qualifying marks in any category will not be less than 32 percent.

Educational Qualification and Age Limit

Candidates applying for this post must have an ISC (Agriculture) or Diploma in Agriculture from a recognized institute or university. The Commission has clarified that no other degree or certificate equivalent to this qualification will be recognized.

Talking about the age limit, the minimum age for male candidates of the general category has been fixed at 18 years and the maximum at 37 years. At the same time, this limit is 40 years for women of the general category and BC / OBC (male and female), while the maximum age for the SC / ST category (male and female) has been fixed at 42 years.

The candidates selected for the post of Field Assistant will get a pay scale of Rs 5200-20200 under Level 2, which includes a grade pay of Rs 1900. This pay scale will be according to the Seventh Pay Commission, which will provide a stable and respectable source of income to the selected candidates.

Category Wise Application Fee

General, backward class and extremely backward-class male candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 540 for applying for this recruitment exam. On the other hand, the fee for Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar, Divyang category of all categories, and women of all categories has been fixed at Rs 135. The application fee for candidates of all categories (whether male or female) from outside the state of Bihar will also remain Rs 540.
