PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch two major schemes for the agricultural sector during a special event at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in the capital, Delhi on Saturday. A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said that these schemes reflect the government's continued commitment to agricultural self-reliance, farmer welfare, and strengthening rural infrastructure.
PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana: ₹24,000 crore
The flagship scheme of this program is the 'PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana', with a total outlay of ₹24,000 crore. Its objective is to increase agricultural productivity, promote crop diversification, adopt sustainable agricultural practices, and improve storage facilities at the Panchayat and Block levels. Irrigation facilities and credit access will also be made available in 100 selected districts.
The Prime Minister will also launch a Pulses Self-Reliance Mission worth Rs. 11,440 crore.

This mission will focus on increasing pulse productivity, expanding cultivated acreage, strengthening the value chain (procurement, storage, processing), and reducing losses.
Agriculture Projects Worth Rs. 5,450 Crore Inaugurated
In addition, PM Modi will inaugurate projects worth over Rs. 5,450 crore related to agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and food processing. He will also lay the foundation stone for new projects worth Rs. 815 crore.
These projects include:
Artificial Insemination Training Centers in Bengaluru and Jammu and Kashmir
IVF Laboratory in Assam (under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission)
Milk Powder Plants in Mehsana, Indore, and Bhilwara
Fish Feed Plant in Tezpur (under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana)
Interaction with Farmers and Certificate Distribution
During the event, the Prime Minister will also distribute certificates to farmers associated with the Natural Farming Mission, MAITRI technicians, PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras, and Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) converted into CSCs. In addition, Modi will also interact with farmers involved in pulse cultivation. These farmers have benefited from various government schemes related to agriculture, animal husbandry, and fisheries.
