The Ministry of Road Transport is now preparing a new rule to make road safety rules stricter. In which if someone breaks traffic rules while driving with children, then he will be fined twice.
India is among the top countries in the world in terms of road accidents and deaths in them. In these accidents, great negligence of drivers is seen, especially not following traffic rules. Regarding which the Ministry of Road Transport is now going to take strict action. The ministry is going to bring a new rule, in which if a person drives with children and breaks traffic rules, then he will be fined double.
On whom will the rule apply?
This rule will apply to all vehicles, that is, along with private vehicles, rented vehicles, school vehicles will also come under this rule. Both the driver and the owner will be considered equally responsible for violating the rules. Let us know what is the current fine?
What is the current fine?
If three people are caught travelling on a two-wheeler, a fine of Rs 1000 is imposed.
If found driving without a seat belt, a fine of Rs 1000 is imposed.
If caught driving a bike without a helmet, a fine of Rs 1000 is imposed.
If you break a signal, a fine of Rs 5000 has to be paid.
If you are caught driving without a driving license, a fine of Rs 5000 will be charged from you.
So this is the fine currently imposed for violating traffic rules. When the new rules come, if you break traffic rules with children, then the amount of these fines will be doubled. Not only this, the government is also preparing to bring merit-demerit points. Now let's know what is this merit demerit?
What is merit-demerit?
Under the new rule merit demerit, the government will set a limit in the point system. Merit points will be given to good drivers and demerit points will be recorded on the license of those who break traffic rules. If the demerit points exceed the prescribed limit, then the license of that person will be permanently or temporarily cancelled. Not only this, there is a proposal to add it to the insurance premium, that is, if the driver drives safely, then he can get a discount in the premium. If the limit of demerit is high, then the driver will have to give a driving test before renewing the license. This will be applicable for those whose license is about to expire.
The purpose of these rules is to make road travel safe and to make people aware of road safety. While traveling with children, people often violate traffic rules which invites accidents. In such a situation, the government's purpose is to make people understand their responsibility. If the fine is high, then somewhere people will be afraid, they will not only understand their responsibility while driving, but will also care about the life of their child.
