Entrance examinations in Gorakhpur University will start from July 4. This time more than 34 thousand students have applied for 10 thousand seats.

Entrance examinations for the academic session 2025-26 are going to start from July 4 in Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. The university administration has released the detailed examination schedule on June 26. Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon said that this time a large number of applications have come, which makes it clear that the students are very excited about admission in the university. At the same time, he expressed hope that this competition will get the best talents to the university.

More than 34 thousand applications, 10 thousand seats

This year more than 34,000 candidates have applied for about 10,000 seats in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. At the graduate level, the highest number of applications have come for BA Honors, which is 4521. Among the postgraduate courses, the highest number of applications, 2982, have been received for LLB.

There is tremendous interest in science and arts subjects too

At the PG level, the highest number of applications, 850, have come in Zoology under the Science Faculty. In the Arts Faculty, the highest number of 461 students have applied for Political Science. Apart from this, there has been a lot of interest in other major courses as well.

MSc Agriculture: 503 applications
M.Ed: 421 applications

Where is the most competition?

23 students have applied for one seat in B.Sc Biology, which has become the most competitive course. After this, 778 applications have been received for 36 seats of LLM, i.e. 22 students are in competition for each seat.

MSc Zoology: 14 applications per seat

BSc MLT: 10 applications per seat

B Pharm: 9 applications per seat

LLB, BBA and MSc Biotechnology: 8 applications per seat
