Cheque Rules: If you also use cheques for money transactions, then you should have accurate information about all the rules related to it. Otherwise, anyone can easily cheat you. Recently, some such reports have been circulating on social media, where it is being claimed that one should not write on the cheque with a black pen. But do you know how correct this message is? Is it really true that if you sign a cheque with a black pen, it will not be cleared. Let us know what are the rules of RBI regarding this.

In some reports on social media, it is being claimed that if you have filled the cheque with a black pen or signed on it, then the bank can refuse to clear such a cheque.

It has also been further claimed in the report that RBI has advised people to use only blue or green colour pen while writing cheques.

When PIB investigated this matter on behalf of the government, this matter was found to be completely fake. PIB Fact Check said that RBI has not given any such order regarding writing of cheques.

Let us tell you that according to the RBI order issued on October 31, 2022, three images are taken while clearing the cheque, one gray scale from the front, one black and white from the front, and one black and white from the back. In such a situation, customers should use such a pen, which looks very clear in it.

To avoid any kind of fraud, permanent pen should be used while writing the cheque. But there is no restriction from RBI regarding the color of the pen.
