If your Sahara refund claim was rejected or payment failed in the past, there’s good news for you! The government has now reopened the application process, offering eligible depositors another chance to claim their money through the official CRCS Sahara Refund Portal. Here's everything you need to know about the reapplication process, eligibility, timelines, and important guidelines.
Who Can Reapply for Sahara Refund? If you had invested money in one of the cooperative societies under the Sahara Group and applied for a refund via the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal (launched in July 2023), but your claim was either rejected or payment was unsuccessful, you now have a second chance.
The reapplication process is strictly online, and offline or physical forms will not be accepted.
What Is the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal? The Sahara Refund Portal was launched by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Its aim is to refund deposits to valid members of four Sahara Group cooperative societies:
Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd.
Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd.
Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd.
Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd.
To handle previously rejected or incomplete applications, the government launched a dedicated resubmission portal in November 2023. This portal is specifically for applicants whose earlier claims were either marked as "Deficient" or payment failed due to incorrect or unlinked bank accounts.
Who Is Eligible to Reapply? You are eligible for resubmission if:
-
Your earlier claim status was marked as Deficient, meaning some documents or information were missing or incorrect.
-
Your refund payment failed, i.e., funds could not be transferred to your Aadhaar-linked bank account.
-
Your total claim amount is up to ₹5 lakh. Claims exceeding ₹5 lakh will have a separate process that the government will announce later.
The resubmission process is simple and completely digital. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Visit the official CRCS Sahara Refund Portal.
Enter your 14-digit Claim Request Number.
Fill in the Captcha Code and click "Submit".
The portal will identify your mobile number linked with Aadhaar and send an OTP.
After OTP verification, you'll be able to access the resubmission form.
Correct any errors or missing information before submitting the form.
-
Important: Once submitted, the form cannot be edited, so double-check all details carefully.
After successful resubmission:
-
The respective Sahara cooperative society will verify your claim within 30 days.
-
Once verified, the refund amount will be credited to your Aadhaar-linked bank account within 45 working days.
No worries! The portal allows you to log out anytime and continue filling the form later. You can log back in using your credentials and resume from where you left off.
Final Words: Don’t Miss Your Second ChanceThis resubmission window is a critical opportunity for thousands of investors who missed out earlier due to technical issues or document deficiencies. If you are one of them, make sure to revisit the Sahara Refund Portal, rectify your application, and claim what’s rightfully yours.
For more updates and official announcements regarding higher-value claims, keep an eye on the Ministry of Cooperation’s notifications.
