Ludhiana (Punjab) [India], November 8 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal addressed newly elected sarpanches in Punjab on Friday, stating that those who have the opportunity to serve their villages have been chosen by God.
"...You must fulfil the responsibility entrusted to you by the people of your village. It is a privilege to have been elected as sarpanch. Whatever happens on this earth is orchestrated by God. So, if you've been given the chance to serve your village, then God has chosen you and wishes to bring good to your village through you," said Kejriwal.
Kejriwal further advised, "All decisions should be made transparently in front of the entire village. The sarpanch should not take decisions alone, as corruption and dishonesty often stem from decisions made behind closed doors."
Notably, 13,147 sarpanches were recently elected across 23 districts in Punjab in the latest panchayat elections.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal addressed AAP supporters and party workers in a video message ahead of the anticipated Delhi assembly elections, likely to be held in a few months.
Addressing party supporters, Kejriwal acknowledged, "We have endured difficult times over the past two years. Many attempts were made to break and buy us, but we remained steadfast. All Aam Aadmi Party workers have united as a family, now stronger and more passionate."

Anticipating further challenges, he added, "In the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, our opponents will use all their resources to defeat us. However, we must not let them succeed under any circumstances. For the first time, essential issues like schools, roads, and other basic needs are being discussed, and the public is hearing about these concerns."
The party has intensified its efforts ahead of the Delhi assembly elections, with Kejriwal and senior leaders focusing on voter engagement and strengthening grassroots support. (ANI)
