New Delhi [India], November 8 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday slammed the Congress and National Conference alliance in Jammu and Kashmir over the resolution demanding the restoration of Article 370, terming it as "unfortunate."
A resolution opposing the revocation of Article 370 and restoring the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was passed in the first session of the newly elected assembly in the Union Territory by a voice vote on Wednesday.
Stating Jammu and Kashmir touching "new heights of development," CM Saini, described the passing of the resolution as "unfortunate" and asked for Congress' clarification on the issue.
"Jammu and Kashmir was touching new heights of development. But Congress and Farooq Abdullah's party brought a resolution in the Assembly to restore Article 370 and 35A. This is unfortunate and Congress has silently supported it. Congress should clarify whether they stand with such forces that want to break this country," Saini said.
Earlier on November 6, a ruckus erupted in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly over a resolution on the restoration of Article 370. Amid the ruckus, the resolution was passed on Wednesday by a voice vote, with all parties barring the BJP supporting it
Further speaking about Jharkhand and Maharashtra election, Saini launched a scathing attack on Congress, saying their "lies" will not work in the elections.
"Their (Congress') lies worked in Telangana, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh. Now their lies will not work. It did not work in Haryana and will not work in Jharkhand and Maharashtra either. Congress will be wiped out," Saini said.
The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will go to polls in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23. A total of 2.6 crore voters are eligible to participate, including 1.31 crore male and 1.29 crore female voters, as well as 11.84 lakh first-time voters and 66.84 lakh young voters. (ANI)
