Salman Khan breaks silence on feud with Arijit Singh: 'Arijit and I are…'

The long-standing rift between Bollywood megastar Salman Khan and acclaimed singer Arijit Singh had once dominated entertainment headlines. Years after their public fallout, Salman has now clarified that there is no bad blood left between them and that they share a friendly bond today.

During a recent episode of Weekend Ka Vaar, comedian Ravi Gupta lightheartedly mentioned that he felt nervous about meeting Salman because people often said he resembled Arijit. The actor burst into laughter at the comment and revealed that his relationship with the singer is now on excellent terms. He admitted that the earlier tension between them had stemmed from a misunderstanding on his part. Salman further shared that Arijit had since sung for him in several films, including Tiger 3, and is now lending his voice to a song in his upcoming project, Battle of Galwan.

"Arijit and I are good friends now," he said.

For those unfamiliar with their history, the conflict began in 2014 during an awards ceremony hosted by Salman. When Arijit came on stage to receive an award, Salman playfully teased him by asking if he had been asleep. Arijit, exhausted after performing back-to-back shows, responded with a witty remark that he had been put to sleep by the hosts’ antics. Unfortunately, Salman perceived the reply as disrespectful, and this sparked an unspoken tension between the two.

In the years that followed, Arijit made multiple efforts to make amends. He publicly apologized to Salman through a heartfelt Facebook post, requesting that his version of a song for the film Sultan be retained. However, he eventually deleted the post after receiving no response.

The feud seemed to finally dissolve in October 2023 when the two were spotted together at Salman’s residence, marking the first public sign of reconciliation. Later, Arijit’s inclusion as a playback singer in Tiger 3 confirmed that the past had truly been left behind. Their renewed collaboration now stands as proof that even the biggest misunderstandings can be resolved with time, humility, and mutual respect.
