Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Controversy over Madai Masjid in Jabalpur, is deepening rapidly. Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal claims that the mosque was built illegally on the land of Bal Gayatri Mandir.

Protest intensified after mosque revived a clean chit
According to right wing organisations, only 1000 square feet of land was allotted to the Waqf Board, meanwhile the mosque has been constructed acquiring 3000 sqft of land. The protest intensified after the administration gave a clean chit to the mosque.

The police had to use water cannons to remove the protesters.
No illegal construction found
Earlier, the collector had clarified the situation regarding the construction of the mosque in a post on social media. He said that no illegal construction was found.
However, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal called it a unilateral decision and have called for a Jabalpur bandh on July 16. They termed this protest as the "Collector Bhagao, Jabalpur Bachao" movement.

The administration says that confusion escalated due to errors in the land records and the matter is already pending in the Collector's Court. At present, arguments of both the parties are in front regarding the disputed land and the matter is now awaiting the decision of the court.
