Television actor Gaurav Khanna, last seen as Anuj Kapadia in the hit serial Anupamaa, is currently one of the finalists on the cooking-based reality show MasterChef India. He will be competing against Tejasswi Prakash, Nikki Tamboli, Rajiv Adatia, and Faisal Shaikh for the coveted MasterChef trophy and coat. During the first part of the finale episode, Gaurav's close friend Hussain Kuwajerwala appeared to support him, as his parents and wife couldn’t attend.
During his appearance, Hussain hinted that Gaurav might soon open a new restaurant in his hometown, revealing that Gaurav's parents are busy with the preparations and his wife, Akanksha Chamola, is handling the interiors. However, Gaurav has now responded to the buzz, clarifying that Hussain was 'joking.'
Gaurav told Zoom, "Well, it was a joke that Hussain made on the show, on the spot. But as of now, I’m not doing anything like this."
Furthermore, the actor added, "Though it’s not a bad idea... I haven’t decided anything on this front yet, but who knows where or when what happens, right?"
Meanwhile, the Celebrity MasterChef India grand finale is scheduled to take place today (April 11, 2025) at 8:00 PM on Sony Entertainment Television.
According to several reports online, the winner of the cooking reality show will be taking Rs 25 lakhs along with a MasterChef trophy and a coat.
Recently, the show grabbed eyeballs after Gaurav was accused of copying a dessert originally created by Switzerland-based chef Dives Josh on Celebrity MasterChef India.
Social media users were quick to point out that the actor's honey-dripping dessert looked strikingly similar to one previously shared by Josh on his Instagram feed.
