The UEFA Europa Conference League is set for a thrilling finale as Chelsea take on Real Betis, with both clubs eyeing continental silverware to cap off their contrasting campaigns.
The final, to be held in Poland, marks a significant opportunity for both sides though for very different reasons. For Chelsea, it’s a chance to etch their name in history. Victory would make them the first club to win all five of UEFA’s major men’s club competitions.
Enzo Maresca’s side will enter the contest as strong favourites after a resurgent domestic season that ended with a top-four Premier League finish and a ticket to next year’s UEFA Champions League.
Real Betis, meanwhile, come into the final with their own ambitions. Though their sixth-place finish in La Liga has already secured a spot in next season’s UEFA Europa League, the allure of lifting a European trophy is motivation enough. For a club with a proud but modest European history, a victory here would be monumental.

Chelsea’s road to the final has been dominant. After sweeping aside Legia Warszawa in the quarter-finals with a 3-0 first-leg win, they booked their place in Poland by easing past Swedish side Djurgardens in the semi-finals.
Real Betis had a trickier path. The Spanish side suffered a 1-0 defeat at Legia Warszawa in the group stage, but bounced back with a 2-0 home victory over Jagiellonia Białystok and a hard-fought 1-1 draw in Poland to make it to the knockout rounds. In the semi-finals, they overcame Italian side Fiorentina, denying the Viola a third straight appearance in the final.

While Chelsea’s squad boasts depth and experience, Real Betis have proven match-winners of their own. Among them is Antony, the Brazilian winger on loan from Manchester United, who has found form at just the right time and could be a key threat to the Blues’ backline.
