Kolkata: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned that no women are safe in Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday had slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Odisha, after a 15-year-old girl was set on fire by some unknown miscreants in Puri.
Taking to X, TMC minister Shashi Panja said, “In broad daylight, a 15-year-old girl was doused with petrol and set on fire on the streets of Puri, Odisha. A chilling example of lawlessness. PM @narendramodi’s much-touted ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ has turned into a grim reality of ‘Beti Jalao’.”
