If we talk about air travel, then the first advantage of traveling by it is saving time. Know the rules related to bags.
If you look, you will find that there is a rule regarding bags on the flight. Under this rule, you have to keep the big bag in the luggage section. Then you get this bag back after the flight lands. Whereas, you can take the smaller bag with you in the cabin. The weight is fixed for both these bags.

Many times such cases come to the fore in which it is seen that the bags kept in the luggage section are not maintained properly due to which the bags get damaged. In such a situation, the bags of the passengers get damaged due to which apart from their bags, the stuff kept inside also gets damaged. One such recent case happened recently with Rani Rampan, a member of the Indian hockey team, in which her bag got damaged.

Rani, a member of the hockey team, told her thing on social media and conveyed it to the airline company. In such a situation, it becomes important for you to know that if ever this happens to your bag while traveling on a flight, then what should you do? First of all, know that you can take compensation for this.

How much compensation can you take?
Actually, according to the rules of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, if a passenger's bag gets damaged, then the airline company has to pay compensation of up to Rs 20 thousand to the passenger. Just keep in mind that you have to complain within 24 hours of the flight landing for domestic flights.

Passengers traveling on international flights have to lodge their complaint within 8 days of landing. If the airline company refuses to take responsibility for the loss of your bag or does not give compensation etc. then you can contact the Civil Aviation Authority i.e. CAA and put forward your point.
