An American who thinks he's spotted the 'biggest' cultural difference between the UK and US has revealed what he finds 'really strange'. Blogger @kalanighosthunter regularly shares travel videos with his three million TikTokfollowers, and he's been travelling in the UK recently.
From Edinburgh to Brighton, Kalani has loved visiting UK destinations, but something 'really strange' stood out to him. In a new video, the blogger said he's found what 'might be the biggest cultural difference between the US and UK.'
Kalani explained: "Today, I am talking about something that I have noticed on my many travels to the UK that is really strange to me as an American. Today, we're talking about marriage.

"Something I've noticed in the UK is you guys will take a relationship on a 12-year test drive before you're ready to commit. I've talked to so many Brits that have been with their partner for a decade and are still not married. You guys will buy a house, live together, have three kids and then consider getting married."
He claimed: "In the US, it's pretty much the opposite. Usually, if you've been together for two years, all of your friends and family around you are like, so are you guys gonna get married? Do you guys even like each other?
"It's always really funny to me because people rarely call my wife my wife. They always refer to her as my girlfriend because I guess we look young enough to not be married. But we've been together for 10 years and married for over four. And when we tell people that in the UK, they're all like massively surprised."
Keen to ask Brits for their thoughts, Kalani invited viewers to share their responses in the comment section. "Let me know if I'm right on this.
"Maybe I've just talked to all the wrong people, but it seems like you guys will literally wait till the last moment to get married, and it's just something that's a little bit different at home," he concluded.

Replying to the video, people shared their own relationship stories that backed up Kalani's point. One response said: "Been together 25 years so far, still test driving."
A different comment added: "13 years, 3 kids later and we're getting married next month." Another read: "My parents, 45yrs together, 3 kids, 5 grandkids, 2 houses and not a marriage license in sight."
However, someone else wrote: "UK got married after 4 months been married 11 years." Others explained they don't plan to get married at all.
One such response read: "Married 25 years, it makes zero difference. Commitment is commitment." Another comment said: "32 years living together, kids, and still so very happy. are we getting married NOOO. no need to."
