The Dutchman has enjoyed a fine maiden season and becomes just the fifth manager in history to win the title in his first year at the helm, following in the footsteps of , , Manuel Pellegrini and .
Slot had the unenviable task of following Kop royalty in Klopp. And there were some who questioned what was realistically achievable for the Reds this year after losing their inspirational leader.
Klopp showed his class - and Slot repaid the compliment in front of the Kop in one of his first actions after becoming a Premier League champion.

“It feels great. I don’t think I want to say a lot. The only thing now is to send my appreciation to Jurgen Klopp,” Slot told Liverpool TV, before chanting “Jurgen Klopp, na, na, na, na."
He continued: “The way we arrived on the bus, everyone was thinking there is no way we were going to lose this game. Conceding first made it difficult, but they always find a way to win.
“Incredibly proud, but not only of the players. Everyone knows what effort they’ve put in over the last few years. Everyone standing here, you [the fans] should give them a wonderful applause as well.
“Let’s forget that it’s the second [title] in 35 years, it’s the second in five years.”
Slot and Liverpool ran away with things after reaching the Premier League summit, leaving behind and last year's champions, . Their boss, , took the time to send a classy congratulation message to the Reds after City's semi-final triumph over .
He said: “Before we start, on behalf of myself and the club we want to congratulate Liverpool for their Premier League victory. Well deserved, no doubt about that, a fantastic team. Give me one year, like It happened the last four years and hopefully next season we can do better and compete until the end of the season.
“Liverpool, congratulations.”
