New Lookis set to close dozens of its stores by the end of this year, with 38 confirmed across the UK and Ireland. This move marks another blow to Britain's struggling high streets.
The most recent closure was in Scotland on 1 July, and another in Wales is scheduled to close next month. This brings the total number of UK closures this year to 12, along with an additional 26 in Ireland.
Shoppersreacted to the Scotland closure on social media as a customer wrote: "Another one! This is madness. Soon be no reason to visit Hamilton." A second commented: "It hard for shops to keep open as it all done on online now."
In response to the Wales store that is set to shut, someone shared: "There be nothing in Neath soon." Another added: "It'll become a ghost town soon."
A third also noted: "Unfortunately it’s the same everywhere. Online shopping has killed the high street."

The fashion retailer has been planning to reduce its high street footprint for some time but reportedly increased the number of planned closures following Rachel Reeves' Autumn Budget last year.
The first store to close was New Look's Wickford branch in southern Essex, which shut its doors on 24 January after 15 years of trading. Although the closure was at the landlord's request, New Look has not publicly announced plans to replace the store, reports the Express.
A spokesperson encouraged customers to "continue to shop with us at our nearby Basildon store". They added: "We would like to thank all of our colleagues and the local community for their support over the years."
New Look stores in Carillon Court Shopping Centre in Loughborough, as well as the one in Porth, Rhondda Cyon Taf in South Wales, have also closed. In addition, the retailer in St Austell, Cornwall, and Team Valley Retail World, Gateshead, are also closed.
