Leeds United could sack Daniel Farke despite the club to the . The Whites could yet secure the Championship title with two games of the season remaining but the club's hierarchy have reservations over Farke's abilities.
Burnley's win over Sheffield United confirmed that at the first attempt. But Farke may not yet be given the opportunity to make his own return.
The German boss has not convinced his superiors that he had has the , according to the . A decision has not yet been made however with an understanding that such a move could quickly backfire, but prospective candidates are said to be being examined.
The Yorkshire club are unlikely to make such a move unless they are convinced they have found a replacement who can bring success. There is some concern that such a decision could irk supporters, and a poor start to next season could impact the atmosphere at Elland Road.
Farke's season in charge currently sees his side top the Championship on goal difference, and the team have already set a club-record points tally. The 48-year-old coach has already twice won the division in charge of Norwich but has seen less success following his promotions.

In his first effort with the Canaries, the club were swiftly relegated after finishing bottom of the Premier League with 21 points and 14 from safety. Farke was ultimately sacked during his second campaign in the top-flight after picking up just five points in 11 matches.
The report will come as unwelcome news to Farke, who would have preferred to enjoy his side's promotion. The Leeds boss wasn't getting ahead of himself but had a few drinks planned for the moment it was achieved.
"I normally celebrate with cake and coffee on the sofa because I'm at an age where I'm pretty tired after a game if I'm honest," said before Burnley's win cemented Leeds' success.

"If there is something major to celebrate, I'm not sure. If I have to back one side to go to and get a win it's Chris Wilder's boys. This league is crazy and I'm just willing to celebrate when it's just really done.
"This was a major step. If there's something to celebrate maybe today and one of the next days believe me I will be a fire beast, there will be some other drinks. Normally I like to speak about the next training session but I will be the first on the table."
Farke is impressed by his team's achievements, but still has aspirations of securing the title before the season is over. "I think it's an impressive achievement, to be on 94 points is the best points tally this club has had in any season," he said.
"Eighty-nine goals are right up there too and still two games to play. It's just more or less a reward for what the lads have done this year, outstanding consistency, we're so hard to beat, scoring goals for fun, creating so many chances. The lads are playing really well and doing really well.
"The most important thing is the position in the league and our biggest aim is to get promoted. We will just celebrate when it's done. What we have achieved with hard work and proper football is second to none."
