A lorry has fallen off the Thelwall Viaduct on the M6, causing the motorway to be closed with emergency crews rushing to the scene.
The HGV is believed to have crashed through one of the barriers and fallen over the bridge, before crash landing on the ground below. Police and fire crews have rushed to the scene and remain there with a full closure in place. The Thelwall Viaduct, in Warrington, near Manchester, carries the M6 motorway across the Manchester Ship Canal and the River Mersey.
The latest update from Inrix reads: "M6 Northbound closed, stationary traffic due to serious accident, a lorry involved from J20 M56 J9 (Lymm Interchange) to J21 A57 Manchester Road (Woolston)."
