Footage of Noel and Liam Gallagher’s landmark first meeting after years of fighting will feature in a movie of the band’s reunion. Sources say the initial tension and uncertainty between the two was caught on film – and that Oasis fans will be “spellbound” by how the brothers’ feud thawed.
The band reformed and announced the Oasis Live '25 tour last summer to fanfare. The shock move to reunite came from Liam’s decision to say sorry to Noel, with his long-term partner Debbie Gwyther playing a key part. The insider says: “Debbie certainly doesn’t take any s**t and arguably has kept everything rolling smoothly.”
Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is producing the movie as a documentary, not a biopic, to be released in cinemas worldwide. His crew were allowed inside the meetings and rehearsal rooms when Liam and Noel discussed the possible comeback and then began working together again. The result is a rich fly-on-the-wall insight, including mobile phone video as well as sit-down interviews.

The insider reveals: “The footage and access given to Steven and his team is phenomenal. Liam and Noel have never been seen in such an open and vulnerable way. This is much greater than a ‘let’s do it for the money’ comeback. It centres on deep-seated emotions – jealousy, ill-will, anger – and then a deep desire for reconciliation.
“The footage of them being reunited, and discussions of how that came to be, will see the pair of them opening up like never before. It was very raw and deeply moving. Liam had to man up and make apologies and take ownership of much of the cause of the issues.
“Noel, too, stepped up. The first couple of weeks were maybe the first time egos were left at the door. Of course once we got closer to the gigs, Liam’s swagger was back with a bang – but away from the spotlight he’s been mindful of maintaining harmony. Debbie’s been central."
Oasis split in 2009 after 15 years of hits, when Noel walked out of a tour following a backstage brawl in Paris. They returned to huge acclaim in July at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. The band play London’s Wembley Stadium tonight before heading to South Korea, Japan and Australia.
This week the band launched Project Rock ’n’ Roll Stars, selling limited edition prints to help put music back into UK state schools.
To mark their historic Live ’25 Tour, they've joined forces with CIRCA is proud to release the posters, which feature original handwritten lyric sheets for five of Oasis’ most iconic songs - Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, Stand By me, Champagne Supernova and Rock ‘n’ Roll Star - alongside a screen print of Liam and Noel Gallagher walking out on-stage hand in hand during the first of five shows at London’s Wembley Stadium.
The project responds to the decline of music provision in UK state schools with 100 per cent of Oasis royalties (50 per cent of proceeds) committed to the cause. Prints are available here until November 25.
