A$AP Rocky may have some explaining to do as he accidentally told the world the gender of his third child with Rihanna. The pop star is expecting her third child with the rapper, 36, and announced the news while on the Met Gala red carpet.
Rihanna, already mum to sons RZA, two, and Riot, 21 months, admitted she isn't feeling 'too overwhelmed' by her pregnancy, despite an initial shock. She has even returned to making musicwhile pregnant, having released Friends of Mine for the new Smurfs film.
The Umbrella hitmaker stars as Smurfette in the latest Smurfs movie, which marked hits world premiere in Belgium on Sunday. A$AP was there to support Rihanna as they headed to the Mont des Arts in Brussels.
On the red carpet, he was asked a very direct question by ET's Kevin Frazier, who prompted: "Is that the girl you've been waiting for?" The rapper replied: 'It is, man, it is."
However, A$AP appeared concerned he had slipped up as he then held up a plush Smurfette doll and he quipped: "Right here, you know what I'm saying? Right here."
Fans were convinced A$AP had given away their baby's gender as one said: "It's [a] girl!" Another added: "He definitely gave it away." Someone else commented: "How cutely he promoted the movie and showed his love for her!"
A fourth gushed: "That's a real man supporting his girl." The reporter even got chance to probe Rihanna about their baby as she kept more coy in her response.
She replied: "'Let's see if it's a Smurfette...It could be a Papa Smurf. Who knows?" However, she did confirm that they are going to carry on the tradition and give their newborn a name that begins with 'R'.
Rihanna confessed: "That's the one thing me and Rocky don't fight over." When asked if they are planning to have more children, the singer joked: "We [are] going to be like the Wayans' family, you know? Yeah, I mean, love is beautiful and it's just [about] spreading it."
Fans have loved Rihanna's return to the studio; however, they have expressed their disappointment that it wasn't in the form of a new album. One user wrote: "When we said we wanted new music, this isn’t what we meant. ig we’ll take what we can get."
"Saw her in the recording studio and almost screamed, and then…" one person commented and another fan yearning for new music added: "I thought she was about to bless us with music—'cause lately, my soul’s been out here starving like it’s on a diet of broken headphones and bad vibes."
After Rihanna confirmed her pregnancy, the Diamond singer was asked if the album, affectionately nicknamed 'R9', would be 'put on pause even longer'. Rihanna responded to Entertainment Tonight: "No, maybe a couple of videos."
Fans have been eagerly awaiting this album for nine years, but RiRi hinted that plans are still on track. She cheekily added: "I can sing!" Speaking of her pregnancy, she said: "I'm good! I'm shockingly feeling ok, and not too overwhelmed at the moment. At first it was kinda like, 'Ahhh!'"
