Actress Arrested In Prostitution Racket: Mumbai Police has arrested an actress on charges of running a sex racket. Police has also rescued two female artists.
Police raided the Kashimira police station area adjacent to Mumbai and busted a prostitution racket. In this action, 41-year-old actress Anushka Moni Mohan Das has been arrested for allegedly running a prostitution business and pushing aspiring female artists into this illegal business. An official gave this information on Friday. During this time, the police also freed female artists who had worked in two TV serials and Bengali films.
Police laid a trap and arrested the accused.
Officials informed that based on secret information, police had prepared two fake customers (decoys). The accused had called the customers to a mall located in Kashimira near Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway. After this, police laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while taking money and immediately took them into custody.
Two female artists were freed
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police, Madan Ballal said, the two female artists who have been freed by the police have acted in TV serials and Bengali films. Both have been sent to a shelter home. At present, the police is investigating the matter.
Actress Anushka Moni Mohan Das arrested
The arrested actress is Anushka Moni Mohan Das (age 41 years). A case has been registered under Section 370 (3) (related to human trafficking) of the Indian Penal Code and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA). Police said that other people, brokers and the network behind this racket are being investigated.
The racket was being run for high-profile clients
According to police officials, "This racket was being run for high-profile clients. The accused actress was playing the role of a middleman... She was arrested and produced in court and sent to judicial custody."
