Emmerdale's Ross Barton, played by Michael Parr, is set to return to the village with a surprise new love interest, according to fan theories.
The character made his debut back in 2013 and quickly became a favourite with fans. And over the years, he became known for his turbulent relationships.
Ross left the soap in 2018 with Rebecca White (Emily Head) and her son Sebastian to start a new life in Liverpool. However, it was recently confirmed that Parr will be reprising his role as Ross later this year.
The news of his comeback has since sparked speculation about his romantic future. And fans are now certain they know who he will be getting with when he returns.
Fans have predicted that Ross will begin a relationship with Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh), who has been left heartbroken after her estranged husband Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) left the Dales to start a new life in Scotland.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, speculation is rife about Ross Barton's love interests upon his return.
One viewer speculated: "Who thinks Ross Barton's first girlfriend will be Tracey?" A second person agreed, saying: "I've been thinking that too."
A third chimed in on the social media platform and added confidently: "Quite possibly!" Another commented: "Probably but I hope not, he's too nice for her anyway."
When the news of Ross' return was confirmed this month, acotr Michael took to Twitter to engage with fans.
He posted: "Hi Twits, it's been a while. Can't believe it's been six years since I was last on set in the Dales.
"Very excited to be back. Do you think Ross will be a good boy or do you think he's here to cause trouble? Let me know in the comments.", reports Leeds Live.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
