star Prue Leith has shared her - and it's easier than you might expect.
Prue, who replaced when the iconic show moved from to Channel 4 in 2017, has been a fan favourite ever since, and has now shared her trick to revive sugar that simply involves adding lemon.
In a recent interview with Best Magazine the 84-year-old said that one of the key purposes of her new is to provide readers with simple food shortcuts.
She said: "Yes, because I'm conscious that what excites people is making dishes that are quick and easy. The book is full of little hacks. The one I got the most response to recently was the trick of putting a lemon into a bag of brick-hard brown sugar; the moisture in it quickly returns the sugar back to its normal state."
The Bake Off star admitted that she regularly cuts corners when it comes to cooking at home.
She said: "I cut corners all the time, but only if they don't compromise quality. I buy the best of anything I can afford - I'd rather have one good steak a week than three or four. And I seldom make puff pastry, because half of the time it's not as good as the stuff you buy in the shops."
Born in Cape Town, Prue decided to move to Europe as a teenager to study French at the University of Paris, and, it was while she was there that she realised that she wanted to to go into the food industry.In the following years she moved to the UK where her career began to flourish, with the opening of her Michellin starred restaurant, Leith's, in Notting Hill in 1969. Since then she has become a household name thanks to her countless cookery books and TV appearances alike.
First airing in August 2010 on BBC Two, The Great British Bake Off saw overnight success, so much so it has often been labelled as the reason for the increased sales of baking products across UK supermarkets, as a result of the publics renewed interest in baking.
Over the years the Channel 4 show has seen a host of changes to its choice of judges with the likes of Mary Berry having previosuly featured on the show, before being replaced be Prue.
Whilst saying that she's in no 'hurry' to leave the show, Prue acknowledges that the time will eventually come.
She added: "I'll have to go at some point. This year has been easier, because they've slimmed down my schedule; I was finding it hard to manage everything, so live dropped the celebrity version and that's made such a difference. So I won't leave in a hurry, but I will leave some time because I'm getting ancient."
