Chris Brickley has boldly tipped sensation to scoop multiple MVP awards after a revealing conversation with his trainer. Hailed as a luminary in training circles, Brickley has attentively tracked the towering 7ft 3in phenomenon since his by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2023 NBA draft.

The prodigious 20-year-old has already shattered records left, right, and centre in the league, becoming the first player to record a triple-double with blocks and multiple three-pointers in one game. Moreover, Wembanyama's unprecedented meld of skills saw him become the first player to amass a staggering 75 three-pointers, 150 assists and 150 blocks within a single season, accomplishing this in merely 48 games.

His impressive feats also included joining NBA legends Tim Duncan and David Robinson as the only rookies to claim at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and block five shots in one game back in March, sealing a 117-105 victory over the Indiana Pacers.

With such an illustrious tally of distinctions in just one season on the professional stage, it's hardly shocking that conversations are abuzz about the limits of Wembanyama's meteoric rise. On the podcast, hosts Big Cat and PFT Commenter, asked Brickley: "How much of a freak is a guy like Wemby, given his size, stature and ability to shoot?"

He replied: "Wemby is the future of the league. I think he'll be MVP multiple times. He worked with Jamal Crawford closely this summer, that was his trainer - and Jamal was telling me, 'We've mastered the Melo [Carmelo Anthony] footwork, we've mastered the Dirk [Nowitzki] footwork, he goes to sleep every night at 8.30pm... he's like a machine'.

"If he stays healthy I think he'll be one of the greatest players we've ever seen."

Both Anthony and Nowitzki are famous for their exceptional footwork on the courts, often leaving opponents confused by their feints and misdirections, and it seems that Wembanyama is attempting to improve his game in the same area by training with Crawford.

The centre was crowned the NBA Rookie of the Year in May after a unanimous vote, as well as being named in the NBA All-Defensive First Team - not only the youngest player to achieve this in NBA history, but also the first rookie to do so.

After serving as a grad assistant at Ole Miss and an assistant with Fairleigh Dickinson, Brickley secured an internship with the New York Knicks. Then, his life changed forever when the aforementioned Anthony missed a game-winning shot.

Despite being instructed not to engage with the talent post-match, Brickley chose instead to show him some empathy, resulting in an invite from Anthony to become his trainer. Now, in 2024, Brickley is the go-to for basketball greats, imparting wisdom to icons such as Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and .

Regarding his approach to training, Brickley told the : "There are no magic drills. It's just about communication and building a relationship. "I think it's a lead-by-example thing.

"[The lessons apply to your] mindset after practice, attitude after bad games, film study, in-season work ethic, and a ton of off-court life decisions."
