'I tried the viral £9.99 Aldi orange wine - but didn't agree with the reviews'

has brought back its viral rose-orange wine, and people have been losing their minds over it online. The Specially Selected Rosorange Rosé is on the upper end of its usual bargains, at £9.99 a bottle, but it was a huge hit when it first launched in 2024.

The supermarket sold almost 5,000 bottles of it in its first week, and sales tripled by the second, followed by some stellar reviews. One said they immediately went out the next day and bought another 6 bottles, while another begged: "We need a restock!!! Don't let this one disappear from the shelves please!" Influencers jumped on the hype too, including Lucy Hitchcock aka , who commented: "That's so unusual but really quite delicious. The result is this refreshingly dry wine that takes the best of both different styles."

So when it came back on the shelves, I had to give it a try, although my review wasn't quite the same.

My favourite wine, as a guide, is a dry white Sauvignon like Oyster Bay, or a light blush rose. So I dished it out to my family over to get a well-rounded view and to take into account other palates.

The bottle itself is beautiful, making it look much more expensive than it is, while the wine has a pink-orange hue and aromas of tangerine, quince, and apricot.

I really enjoyed the citrusy flavours - I could imagine myself sipping it on a summer's day. It was easy drinking, and less acidic or heavy than some white wines can be.

However, some of us thought it was intriguing how such a fruity wine could be so dry.

Let's bear in mind the wine's advertising, which said: "Its dry yet flavourful profile, combined with a distinctive fruit-forward taste, makes it a must-try for wine enthusiasts."

But it was so dry, in fact, that one sibling said it needed chasing with a shot of water, contrasting the "refreshingly dry" take from Lucy, or Married at First Sight UK star Adrian Sanderson, who said it was "fresh" after half a bottle.

The is fruity and summery, and we also thought it would go well in a wine spritzer, but I wouldn't call it refreshing.

I was the biggest fan in my family and would happily drink it again, so if you have a similar palate to mine, I'd recommend it.

But if you're not a fan of a dry tipple, I'm not sure this one is for you.
