Jake has announced a 'big drugs test' before his highly-anticipated heavyweight clash with .
The high-stakes , November 15, at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The venue can hold up to 80,000 spectators, and the match is generating .
Initially, the two were supposed to fight in July; however, Tyson had to pull out due to an ulcer flare-up during a flight. Now, at 58, Tyson has confirmed he's ready to step back into the ring.
This headline-grabbing event will see Paul and Tyson compete professionally for eight rounds of two minutes each, which is a deviation from the standard three-minute rounds. Their fight has been officially sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, with both fighters wearing 14-ounce gloves heavier than the usual ones worn.
As part of the buildup to their titanic encounter, both fighters will undergo rigorous drug testing, as stated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to World Boxing News: "Contestants who fight in Texas are subject to random drug testing. Combatants over the age of 36 are also required to pass an EKG and an EEG."
Paul, who recently featured on the Suga Sean O'Malley podcast, set the record straight regarding the drug-testing regulations for his upcoming fight. Tim Welch, O'Malley's coach, remarked: "They've got to let Mike use some special supplements, a little bit. I mean 58-years-old. Having the lifestyle that he's had, his natural testosterone can't be that high, so hopefully he's able to get boosted up a little bit."
'The Problem Child' responded to these speculations, saying: "Well, there's like a big, panel, drugs test from the Texas State Commission."
Welch humorously added: "So his testosterone can't be 16,000 like Alistair Overeem that one time" - to which Paul retorted: "No, I don't think so."
Previously in August, Tyson confessed that he would be using psychedelic substances during his training for the bout with Paul, stating on Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast with Mike Majlak that he "always trains on mushrooms".
When discussing his relationship with marijuana, Tyson declared: "Bout with marijuana. I never had a fight, it's always been my friend."
In the company of Logan and co-host Mike Maljak, Tyson discussed his past marijuana use before shifting the conversation to magic mushrooms, even showing a bag full of spores. Maljak inquired: "Are you going to take these shrooms today?"
Tyson confirmed: "I have to take them when I train. I always train on my mushrooms."
In a startling exchange, Paul was taken aback and questioned: "What? Why?" Tyson then justified his statement saying: "Because I feel beautiful. They take me to heaven baby."
Baffled, Paul further quizzed whether Tyson would be under the influence of magic mushrooms for his bout with his sibling. The heavyweight boxer clarified: "If I'm not on mushrooms I'll be on..." before Maljak chimed in with a jesting guess: "PCP?"
To which Tyson chuckled: "That's a good one too. Residue of mushrooms. I won't be on mushrooms but I'll be on the residue of mushrooms."
