It was an exhilarating second day of action at Augusta National for the , with plenty of drama at both ends of the leaderboard. Overnight leader Justin Rose cemented his stellar first round, with the Englishman shooting a 71 to keep hold of his lead at eight under after the first 36 holes.
Rory McIlroy also stormed back into contention with a round of 66. His eagle on the 13th was supplemented by four birdies as he recovered from his nightmare finish on Thursday to move just two shots behind Rose, and one off second placed Bryson DeChambeau.
Defending champion Scottie Scheffler is also lurking. Despite a bogey on the 18th last night, he's right in the mix at five under par on what is gearing up to be a thrilling final two rounds in the race for the green jacket.
