Danny Jones is said to be stepping in to fill the boots of on
Boxer and reality TV heartthrob Tommy, who recently called it quits with his fiancee Molly-Mae Hague this year, had been in talks with show producers for a while before opting out, despite the programme's imminent start. Tommy has evaded confirming rumours about his potential appearance in the jungle.
On Heart Breakfast not long ago, when probed about joining the acclaimed show, he confided: "Listen a lot of things in my life is like a rollercoaster in a minute. There are so many things I might do. You know, could he be doing this? Could he be doing that? To be honest with you, I don't know what I'm doing this afternoon. I mean, I just take literally an hour at a time, so I don't know. There's a lot of things going on in my life right now. So, I'm not sure on anything."
An insider has now spilled that it's the McFly vocalist who will be braving the wilds of the Australian bush. "As well as bringing some of the star appeal of the group with him, he'll be supplying some serious guy candy for the campmates and viewers at home," reports
"All the McFly guys are gym fanatics and Danny in particular has a great physique - which he's bound to show off in the jungle," an insider revealed to The Sun. ITV and Danny's representatives have been contacted by The Mirror for a statement.
The source also mentioned that the singer is expected to 'fill the jungle hunk gap' left by Tommy. ITV chiefs were reportedly pinning their hopes on reality star Tommy to boost viewership for their hit series, with the expectation that he would reveal details about his sensational split from Molly-Mae Hague.
The ex-pair, who found fame on the fifth series of Love Island, had settled down together, welcomed a baby named Bambi in January last year, and even got engaged. Yet, it came as a bombshell when they declared their separation after a five-year romance.
Speculation was rife that Tommy might open up around the campfire, alongside fellow celebrities, and divulge the real story behind his breakup with his former partner amid whispers of cheating.
