Netflix has just added a gripping six-part crime thriller to its roster that fans are claiming is perfect for a binge-watch session.
The Gathering, originally aired on Channel 4 last year, is now available for streaming on the popular platform.
All episodes are ready for viewing as of today (August 25), providing an ideal solution for those looking for Bank Holiday entertainment.
The series created quite a buzz when it first premiered, thanks to its unexpected plot twists and impressive performances from a relatively young cast.
Although marketed as a teen drama, it found favour with older viewers as well.
The storyline revolves around a violent attack on a teenager at an illicit beach party, which sends ripples of suspicion through a Merseyside community. As the secrets and lies of both the youngsters and their parents unravel, the truth behind the attack begins to surface.
Penned by author Helen Wash in her television debut, the show was produced by World Productions, the company responsible for some of the UK's most successful crime dramas, including Line of Duty and Karen Pirie. The series also shares directors with these hit shows, reports the Mirror.
While it may not have garnered enough ratings on its original channel to secure a second season, The Gathering's arrival on Netflix is expected to introduce it to a broader audience. It wouldn't be surprising if it soon features in the platform's top 10 most-watched list.

Shot and situated around Merseyside, the series capitalised on venues across Liverpool and the Wirral, encompassing the Empire Theatre and Red Rocks beach area in Hoylake.
Numerous critics applauded this utilisation of location.
One critic declared: "It's a watchable, gritty drama. The details are superb. Liverpool makes for a compelling back-drop, showing the rough and the smooth. The casting is tight so you believe these people and understand their motives."
Countless admirers also lauded its excellence, with one posting online: "A brilliant six episode watch that had me gripped from start to finish. The localised cast give a level of authenticity and Eva Morgan leads the show very well. You'll be guessing everyone's true intentions in this classic whodunit but with a twist. This certainly carried a level of nostalgia also for those of us that grew up watching shows like Skins."
A further viewer remarked: "Absolutely demonstrated crime drama at its very best . What an interesting, entertaining, engaging and intriguing plot , first rate acting especially from the actress playing Kelly."
Whilst another person observed: "Just watched three in a row and could have watched the whole series. So good, it's like a cinematic experience. Outstanding writing, perfect casting all round, and exceptionally good and true acting, it feels like family."
They went on to say: "The entangled storylines, presented in a kaleidoscope so compelling, it makes you question your own integrity. You will need to know how this all ends. Gritty and brilliant. An absolute must watch."
The Gathering is streaming on Channel 4 and Netflix.
