It's been a busy week for streaming devices. First, we brought you the news that later this year, which offer bigger features at a low price, and now there's another rival taking aim at Amazon's Fire TV Stick. It's called the Go Cast 150, and at first glance, you might think Google has brought its popular Chromecast back from the dead.
However, this new streaming dongle hasn't been reborn from the US team in California. Instead it is the brainchild of TV brand Thomson who is on a charge to get more of its devices into homes. The reason it looks so similar to Google's streamer is that it's fully based on that design with Thomson even getting permission from Google to make it.
It also runs on Google's TV platform which means there's instant access to all the most popular streaming services such as Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Disney+, Apple TV+ and Spotify.
Other extras worth a mention include full compatibility with 4K content, plus it can show movies and entertainment in stunning Dolby Vision - the audio is also gets full Dolby Atmos support.
Even the remote has a certain ring to it, with this channel changer getting a neat site design and quick buttons for those favourite streaming apps. There's also full voice search which is powered by the Google Assistant.
Express.co.uk was at the launch of the Go Cast 150 and it looks pretty impressive - especially if you've been missing your old Chromecast.
"Extend your entertainment beyond the home with the THOMSON Cast 150, a next-generation streaming device that transforms any screen into a smart entertainment hub, Thomson explained.
"Whether in a hotel room, an Airbnb, or a camper van, simply plug, stream, and enjoy.
"Turn any screen into a smart entertainment centre. Stream your favourite apps, use voice control, and cast straight from your phone - all in a simple, powerful little device that goes wherever you do."
We're still waiting on a launch date, price and availability but hopefully there will be more news soon.
If it looks enticing, we have one in our hands and will bring you a full review soon.
