Fans of best-selling murder mystery The Thursday Murder Club have been left fuming after seeing the cast put together by Netflix. The book follows a group of OAP amateur sleuths and has been adapted into a film from
Directed by Home Alone and Harry Potter's Chris Columbus, the upcoming crime comedy boasts an impressive A-list cast: , , Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ace, Daniel Mays, Richard E Grant and more.
Now, has unveiled the first look at The Thursday Murder Club movie, which has four images ahead of a trailer but fans aren't happy.

The film's synopsis reads: "Based on Richard Osman's international bestselling novel of the same name, The Thursday Murder Club follows four irrepressible retirees - Elizabeth (Helen Mirren), Ron (Pierce Brosnan), Ibrahim (Ben Kingsley) and Joyce (Celia Imrie) - who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun.
"When an unexplained death occurs on their own doorstep, their casual sleuthing takes a thrilling turn as they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands. Directed by Chris Columbus, the film is the latest to be produced through the and Amblin Entertainment partnership."
Shared on Netflix's official Instagram account, fans of the best-selling novel were quick to voice their opinions about the casting and offered up alternatives. One user wrote: "Ron is way hotter than I pictured him." While another user added: "I had Ricky Tomlinson in my head when I read the books." And a third person wrote: "I think Ron is incorrectly cast."
According to various book review sites, Ron Ritchie, played by Pierce Brosnan, is "a rash, alpha-male former union leader - and yet he still fits right in."
It was confirmed earlier this month what role former Doctor Who star David Tennant will play in the upcoming film The Thursday Murder Club. Director Chris Columbus revealed that the Scottish star will play Ian Ventham, who owns Coopers Chase, the retirement village where the foursome reside.
The Home Alone director also confirmed that Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes and Geoff Bell will portray the characters DCI Chris Hudson, Bogdan and Tony Curran respectively.
