Wynne Evans and Katya Jones should "end the conversation" surrounding the latest Strictly Come Dancing scandal, according to PR experts. The Go Compare icon and his professional dance partner have been shrouded by speculation after he poorly placed his hand on her waist.
Saturday's show after the opera singer was spotted putting his arm around the professional dancer's waist, which led Katya to pull his hand back to her side.
Fans of the BBC dance show accused Wynne of "groping" the 35-year-old, which happened after Katya was seen and pulling a disgusted face - a claim which both of the Strictly stars strongly deny, as they released a joint statement to say that they were "joking".
Now PR experts suggested that the competitors should try their best to "move on" from the situation. Rochelle White, founder of Rochelle White Communications, told Express.co.uk: "I think it was taken out of context. The best move would be to address it once and move on with the show.
"When it comes to PR and Wynne's socials, it would be good to manage the comment sections and have his team make sure the content is related to the show and nothing more. It would also be good for his team to manage mentions and tags."
She added: "If they address what has happened, there is no need to continue the conversation unless something else comes up."
A second PR expert echoed Rochelle's thoughts, adding: "Being a woman I can understand why people are concerned. They might have considered it as a 'joke' but some people can get triggered by behaviours or actions like this, regarding the grabbing of the stomach.
"If he was my client, I would advise him to just apologise, and briefly explain himself but come from a position of understanding and not sweep it under the carpet, like some of the public, including myself, believe he is doing.
"I don't think he should speak about it anymore but it would have been nice to have seen a level of understanding of why people were concerned by the hand gestures on his video commenting on the incident, even if they were innocent or not, which I'm sure they were. People make mistakes, it's how you own and deal with them after that you learn from them."
Since the incident, bookies have suggested that Wynne could be next to be eliminated from the dance competition. The odds for the accomplished tenor tumbled to 5/1 as he became the third favourite for the chop this weekend, according to betting firm Ladbrokes.
The bookies also had odds of 6/1 on him quitting the show following the backlash.
: "Basically, firstly I want to say I'm absolutely heartbroken about the things that are being said about me in the past day. It's not nice to live in that time.
"Katya and I are really really close and we're really good friends and on Saturday night, we made a stupid joke that went wrong. We thought it was really funny. It has been totally misinterpreted."
