This Wednesday's National Lottery draw, with a top prize of £8.4 million, has already changed one person's life forever. Alongside the £8.4 million lottery winner who matched all six numbers, two other fortunate players matched five numbers plus the bonus ball, each securing £1 million. The £500,000 Thunderball jackpot remains unclaimed although one player did manage to match five numbers, taking home £5,000.
Branded the country's "favourite game", Lotto gives players the chance to win millions with just a £2 ticket. To play, Brits have to choose six numbers between one and 59. Alternatively, they can get a Lucky Dip, which randomly selects a line. Players who match all six numbers will bag the top prize.
The Lotto draw took place at 8pm, with the winning numbers being 4, 11, 34, 51, 54, 55, and the bonus ball was 57. The Thunderball draw followed 15 minutes later, and the winning numbers were 6, 9, 12, 20, 35 and the Thunderball was 14.
