Pappu Yadav Receives Death Threat From Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, 2nd Time In 10 Days

Patna: Independent MP from Bihar's Purnia, Pappu Yadav has once again received a death threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Yadav's personal secretary, Mohammad Sadiq Alam, said that he received intimidating WhatsApp messages in Delhi, reported PTI. The message allegedly claimed that "six individuals have been contacted for the murder of Pappu Yadav".The individual who sent the threat message even shared an image of a Turkish-made pistol in the WhatsApp chat, and said that this pistol would be used to eliminate Yadav, the report said. Alam has lodged an FIR at Delhi's Connaught Place police station in Delhi, detailing that the messages he received. Citing the complaint, Alam said the first message was received at 2.25 am while the second came at 9.49 am, adding that he immediately reported the matter to the police after informing his seniors.Earlier, Pappu Yadav had received a similar threat from a person claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Bihar Police had arrested Mahesh Pandey for threatening Yadav.According to the police, Pandey has confessed to have contacted the MP, through WhatsApp, using a SIM card he had borrowed from his wife's sister who lives in the UAE. The mobile set from which Pandey made the call, as well as the SIM card, has been seized by police.The police, however, made it clear that it has so far found "no links with Lawrence Bishnoi gang" of Pandey, who has been arrested and was being interrogated.Yadav called for a thorough investigation, urging the authorities to ensure his safety.“We have shared information with senior officials, including the Director General of Police (DGP), the Inspector General (IG), the Superintendent of Police (SP), and even the Home Minister, yet the threats continue unabated," Yadav said as quoted by the newsagency. "Why the individuals responsible for these threats had not been apprehended, especially when the person making the threats clearly indicated who was backing him," he added.
