As Kamala Harris delivered her concession speech on Wednesday, her husband, Doug Emhoff, and running mate, Tim Walz, burst into tears. The two men, standing at the foot of the stage, consoled each other as they accompanied the Vice President to the Howard University stage. Harris, who had cancelled her address on Tuesday, spoke to supporters at her alma mater and conceded the election to Donald Trump.This comes after Trump managed to win 292 electoral college votes against Harris' 226. On Wednesday, she asked her supporters to not lose hope and 'roll up their sleeves'. As she spoke, Walz and Emhoff were visibly emotional. During her speech, Harris said: “While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign." She further vowed to not give up. "America, we will never give up the fight for our democracy, for the rule of law, for equal justice, and for the sacred idea that every one of us no matter who we are or where we start out has certain fundamental rights and freedoms that must be respected and upheld," she added.
