However, India peaked after reaching the playoffs, defeating Australia in the quarterfinal, Pakistan in the semifinal, and Sri Lanka in the final. Yuvraj Singh was the star performer for India in the gala event and won the 'Player of the Tournament' after scoring 362 runs and taking 15 wickets. India reached the semifinals of the 2015, 2019, and the final of the 2023 World Cups, but suffered heartbreaks. They, however, did manage to win the T20 World Cup in 2024.
