Buxar: A 21-year-old youth died after a speeding tractor hit his bike near Mathila village under Koran Sarai police station area in Buxar district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Sumit Kumar Mishra , the only son of Prabhunath Mishra, a resident of Kanjharua village. However, the tractor driver managed to flee the spot with the vehicle, and the police have launched a search for him.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 11am when Sumit was going to Koran Sarai on a bike with his friend, Manish Kumar Shah. On the way, a speeding tractor hit his bike from behind, killing Sumit on the spot. The pillion rider, Manish, a resident of Adfa village under Dumraon police station, was seriously injured. He is undergoing treatment at the sub-divisional hospital in Dumraon. Sumit's father, Prabhunath Mishra, is a farmer.
"The police have sent the body to Buxar sadar hospital for postmortem and launched a search operation to arrest the driver," said Amit Kumar, SHO of Koran Sarai.
